After attending a 2 hour cake course, my passion for cake decorating and creating was found. From the first novelty cake I was hooked on creating something different. A chef by trade, with a natural talent for ‘all things art’ it felt like the perfect progression to swap the pans and knives for cake tins and spatulas.
It was from there I knew I needed a follow my new found passion. From seaside restaurants to one of Adelaide most respected cake shops – How Sweet It Is. I started as a Baker and quickly picked up the skills required to decorate.
In 2010, after 5 years of decorating experience I was given the opportunity to purchase How Sweet It Is, and take it in a direction myself and my wife Carly knew we would be proud of.
This little Adelaide cake shop had so much potential and we were keen to refresh the look of this amazing business and reintroduce timeless and new age cakes to brides of Adelaide, whilst keeping the traditional taste of our family cake recipes.
With the love and support of my family behind me, I have made How Sweet It Is the successful, reliable and well respected business it is today and have even impressed my hardest critic, my wife, creating her an amazing wedding cake on our special day. The deal was that if Carly has to surprise me with a wedding dress, then I was to surprise her with a wedding cake!
